Regarding antitrypanosomal activity, the EO exhibited significant results with IC50 2.65 µg/mL. Moreover, the relaxation of bronchial rings contracted after exposure to 1 μg/ml ovalbumin occurred at a faster rate in rings pre-incubated with 1,8-cineole when compared with rings pre-incubated with vehicle only (Tween 0.3%). The present study investigated the chemical composition of the essential oil and the antibacterial activity of the essential oil and ethanolic extract of Endostemon tereticaulis against resistant pathogenic bacteria. The oil of A. sessiflora displayed activity against the nitric oxide generation with the IC50 of 95.94 ± 6.18 µg/mL.
All tested EOs exhibited antifungal activity against C. albicans, whereas cinnamon EO showed significantly highest and limette EO significantly lowest activity. Chemical compositions of oil were identified by GC/MS.
Oregano essential oils obtained from the genera Origanum, Thymus, Coridothymus, Thymbra, Satureja and Lippia are rich in carvacrol, a monoterpenic phenol isomeric with thymol. The current study described for the first time the antibacterial activity of Endostemon tereticaulis.
The aim of this study was to determine whether 1.8-cineole (Soledum) might be suitable for the treatment of bronchial asthma. [10][11][12], Monoterpenes are considered allelochemicals. The antibacterial activity was tested against multiresistant Acinetobacter baumannii P1483, Salmonella spp. Activity against Trichomonas vaginalis was also undertaken, showing IC50, IC90 and MLC values of 0.016, 0.03 and 0.06% (v/v) respectively, after 48 hours of incubation. It is an important reservoir of medicinal biomass foliar for prospective studies and popular use against antimicrobial which are of interest to health or agriculture.
These results provide a scientific basis for the use of this plant in traditional medicine. In conclusion, Jordan S. ceratophylla EO represents a rich source of linalool and bears a promising therapeutic potential for further antitrypanosomal drug development. This finding may be related to the major monoterpene and sesquiterpene, especially bisabolol and bisabolene, which have antibacterial properties. Agrobiodiversity Conservation: Genotype Influence on Chemical and Sensorial Traits of Cultivars Grown on the Same Clonal Rootstock, Biological activities of essential oil extracted from leaves of Atalantia sessiflora Guillauminin Vietnam, Antibacterial Activity of Endostemon tereticaulis (Poir.) Même si aucun extrait riche en terpènes volatils n’a permis une inhibition significative de la sécrétion de TNF-α, des résultats préliminaires ont montrés que les composés principaux des plantes étudiées avaient une activité anti-inflammatoire. Monoterpenes are found in many parts of different plants, such as barks, heartwood, softwood of trees, in vegetables, fruits and herbs. Enterococcus faecalis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were least susceptible to the oil of A. sessiflora, as seen in their MIC and MLC values over 16% (v/v). of Nigella sativa L. seeds and its active principle thymoquinone has been examined using carrageenan-induced oedema in rat hind paws and cotton seed pellet granuloma in rats.
