This pie is a complete meal in itself, so I wouldn’t serve it with rice, but if you can’t have curry without it, then I’m not going to stop you. It was these two dishes that gave me the inspiration to create my own take on a Keema recipe. Add the lentils, broth, Tamari and seasoning.
I like how this sounds simple to make, but definitely doesn't skimp on flavour. If you want the recipe to come out exactly as mine did I would suggest cooking the lentils first. They do absorb liquid as they are cooking though so you would definitely need more liquid than stated in the recipe.
I forgot to say too that I would go for the full 4 hours on high or 7 on low if the lentils were uncooked. We love lentils, but could I try these beans as a substitute for now? Mushroom broth is awesome. Sprinkle the cod all over with sea salt, set aside for 15 minutes, then rinse in cold water, pat dry and refrigerate. Sounds so flavorful!
Do you know how I would adjust the recipe in the slow cooker if using uncooked lentils?
