The bathroom was good, my only complaint being that the towels were a little scratchy but I would certainly stay here again. While many of the major cities in Latin America date from the 16th century, among cities in Canada and the U.S., few were created earlier than Quebec City ( St. John's , Harbour Grace , Port Royal , St. Augustine , Santa Fe , Jamestown , and Tadoussac ). Being a busy season in Quebec we have booked a room in Clarendon having paid a premium rate.Room was indeed very nice with super comfy bed. I can assure that these mattresses are ensuring a good night sleep!And I am pleased to confirm that the hotel was built in 1870 and was inspired by an european architecture : this is partly why rooms are smaller than more modern/standard hotels.Thank you again for this review and we all hope to serve you in a near future! Hotel is in a great location-- right at the end (beginning?) High sides but had no trouble getting in and out. The staff was excellent. The lobby is nice but smaller than it appears in pictures since more than half is the restaurant/bar and separated by glass. Lots of hot water. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. It was a standard room with two double beds but it was so small there wasn't a chair to sit on the there was no cupboard so no place to hang clothes not even hooks to hang your coat on. The location is perfect for exploring the city, only a minute from the Chateau Frontenac, close to everything. Due to its location I would probably stay here again, it's a nice historic hotel, our room was clean and there was nothing to complain about. Other miscellaneous taxes and hotel fees which are not fixed or due at time of booking may be payable at the property at time of stay.
