The staff were wonderful especially Darian who delivered drinks on the beach, always smiling and working hard bless him, some of the front desk girls could be a little frosty which was a shame. The pool bar was a nice feature and offered a little bit of shade from the sun at certain points.The beach in front of the hotel seemed the nicest in the area though the sand was not as fine as in other parts of the island. The boardwalk is one mile long, it's a nice easy walk. There's more to do on the west coast so maybe look into staying there if you are going to spend more time outside the hotel. The Royal Marines were staying when we were they and I just want to mention that they were not rowdy at all, they behaved impeccably. All we wanted was to have a shower and freshen up given the humidity but we were not offered any facilities that catered for this and were even more surprised that the room was not made available until an hour later (45 minutes after the stated check-in time). My room was excellent overlooking the sea, it was constantly kept supplied with all the amenities and the bed was so comfortable. The Lazy Mongoose is open daily and is a part of our all-inclusive package. Sited in the UNESCO World Heritage Garrison Historic Area, this property straddles a magnificent stretch of crystal clear turquoise waters. One small complaint was about the hot water in the room. I was put in a hospitality suite so that I can shower & sleep. The facilities are in good condition and we understand that there will be a closure for maintenance in a few weeks. We had a deluxe ocean view room which was a good size, amazing shower, decent size tv, good views of the beach/ocean.
