We had a nice dinner here after a cubs game in May, 2015. The food overall was good, but it wasnt amazing for me.
Foie Gras ( foie gras, raspberry jam, sweetbread) - Delicious. The guys who did it were so quiet and speedy that no one else noticed. The decor and ambiance is fabulous. The laidback attitude could due with a little more friendliness and smile, there were only 2 other dining groups there...I started with the White Gazpacho. Yelp I'm back. My wife and I hit up Chicago for Labor Day weekend and both being fans of Graham Elliot from his appearances on Master Chef, decided that G.E.B.
Loud music and fine dining really do not mix.
I didn't felt like it was worth the $6.
We ordered the salmon carpaccio, truffled popcorn, goat cheese (showed up…
Starting with the drink menu, i opted for the Honey Ryder. Let’s take a look at the product collections below.
Hope to see them when they re-open. It's possible that the menu was not as creative as previous ones I saw on Yelp. The fries themselves were nice and crispy and I really enjoyed that, although the bacon aioli it was served with didn't have any discernible bacon flavor to it. Maybe I should've known better to order "seafood" when the closest ocean is just a bit short of 1000 miles. We ordered the gnocchi, the seabass, and the orecchiette. And tell me which ones would fit you the most! The food itself was ok-good. Fish was fresh, batter was light, chips were kinda soggy.
I really wanted to meet him and we were upset we didn't get the chance. We…
Loved the atmosphere and loved that they have valet, See all photos from Alisha M. for Graham Elliot Bistro. And SLOW.
This is one of the better burger in Chicago!Chicken Pate liver with blueberry jam and almond - LOVE IT! Speaking of the bun, it could've been softer too.
When a friend got up to go to the bathroom, her scarf and napkin fell.
Again, great service from the waiters, and if you are lucky you will see and or meet Graham himself. It was a hefty portion size. I think what disappointed me was that the porkchop was a little undercooked where the middle was a little on the raw side and the stroganoff's spatzle was fried and crunchy instead of a doughy pasta-like consistency I was expecting.
Of the ten dishes we tried, we absolutely loved every one of them. We spent the time to review the products, so you won’t have to do that yourself.
was a place we should visit.
I know seabass is restrictive to eat. It's a Chinese thing. With some of the classics from his last restaurant like the Cesar salad with stuffed brioche and truffle …
Gnocchi was actually quite tasteful.
The food was definitely good but not mind-blowing. Ordered Seabass, got fucking Tilapia. My wife ordered Milk and Honey which was a kind of fresh and sweet salad combined with cheese. We ended up having one of the best meals of our life. The beef stroganoff and deconstructed caesar salad were out of this world.
For a michelin rated restaurant, the restroom could be a little cleaner.... Been here and done that.
The Grahamburger tastes fairly similar to the Turkey burger at Hubbard Inn (with some fruity-jam type spread to add sweetness that pairs well with the creamy cheese). I came in alone, and of course since I was by myself was seated very quickly. Food smaled, tasted and looked extra-ordinary , what a skill!!!!
It's possible that the menu was not as creative as previous ones I saw on Yelp.
Him and Gordon ramsey are me two fav celebrity chefs, so I was on cloud nine.
Tables near me were seated, and then served drinks before me for some reason. Which is ridiculous. First, I will say that I have had to proofread this review umpteen times by the time you have gotten to read it , so I don't come off as the total lush you…", "I stopped by on a Saturday evening. I will definitely be returning!
I would not order the 'egg in a hole' thing again. Check with this restaurant for current pricing and menu information. I say this with complete sincerity but these employees are the nicest people ever to work at a fast food joint -- they need to be promoted to corporate or something.

My wife, a friend and I were there on a Friday night, and the restaurant was only half full at times, while several of the other Randolph Street restaurants were packed, so that can't be a good sign for the long-term business prospects. The food overall was good, but it wasnt amazing for me. Menu for Graham Elliot Bistro: Reviews and photos of Deconstructed Caesar Salad, Mussels, Milk & Honey
You want to say your reaction isn’t personal. I was pretty excited b/c I'm a total food show watcher and love watching MasterChef. Have a great day.
Again ate half of someone else's - banana split - pretty good.Service is slow. The food at GEB is world class, wildly creative, and delicious.
My Beef Stroganoff was a great combination of taste and texture, with the beef just melt-in-your-mouth.
Should've been waived, but the real issue is still the "seabass".
It was tasty but not any better than a thrown together float I could have done at home (probably should have done that instead instead of spending $9 on a float).Anyway, the service was fantastic, our waitress was funny, helpful and on point. Read more. Came here with my hubby as our post tax season celebration dinner. I'm pretty sure the blueberry jam was gourmet or house made, it wasnt too sweet.
Once Dominic noticed the bar didn't bring my drink, he went and personally got it, and said its on the house. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. I came here this past Wednesday for dinner with my boyfriend for a 7:30 reservation.
I placed my order with my server Dominic, and sat and enjoyed the lovely ambiance. None of the "Firsts" on the menu really jumped out at us, so we each ordered a "Second" and a "Third". Our staff is always here to help 24/7. That was better than the Caesar part. The gnocchi was light, the brown butter sauce was savory and the asparagus was cooked exactly the way I love.
There is also a full-service bar serving a wide selection of beers, wines and specialty cocktails. It was not much to look at.
Food smaled, tasted and looked extra-ordinary , what a skill!!!! Unfortunately, the food was lacking, and I wouldn't recommend this place with all the other delicious options you can try in Chicago. Deliciously cold and creamy. The chicken and waffles were tasty, while the BBQ short rib sandwich was also great but oily. Lovely atmosphere and space.
The sauces were really good and added flavor to the entree. Just say it's Tilapia on the menu. I came here to use the Gilt promo I purchased thinking it was a great deal to check out Graham Elliot's restaurant. See all photos from Liliana P. for Graham Elliot Bistro. The bun was warm and toasty. Yelpers report this location has closed.
(HAHAHA) I was pleasantly surprised to see how empty the place was. It had just enough pepitas for crunch. Tom S. Deconstructed Caesar was awesome and anchovies on it were beautiful. I was pretty excited b/c I'm a total food show watcher and love watching MasterChef.
Good choice - It was like breakfast elegance. The drinks were very good but I was disappointed my Moscow mule didn't come in a copper mug!
Kinda expected a little more from a masterchef judge. Boyfriend got the peanut butter cup - chocolate mousse with peanut butter and buttermilk ice cream.
I had the mussels, which were plump, but a couple of them had sand and had a somewhat fishier flavor than many other mussels dishes I've had. My friend and I shared the porkshop and the short rib stroganoff.
Seriously.
I've always wanted to sample this place so that i did. The service is great.
It had cranberries and candied yams along with it, and was topped with two eggs...it was basically Thanksgiving for breakfast! My fella had a rich cheesy risotto and a beet terrine of some sort as an entree. Just outside the downtown area of Chicago sits a small bistro by top Chef Graham Elliot. Desserts normally skipped? The napkin was promptly taken away and replaced with a new one, and her scarf was folded neatly over and placed back on her chair. My wife's Sea Scallops were equally wonderful. Learn more. Ended the evening with the panna cotta, which was light enough where I wouldn't explode. This Vodka based drink went down smooth...very smooth. But with Graham Elliot, it’s always personal. You’re greeted at a host stand made from stacked amps. Our friend was running late and due to time constraints they said they would have to give away our table if our friend didnt show up within 15 minutes. I guess I'm turned off by thematic pretense. Seasoning is not quite heavy, which was good.
Then there was the music. All in all I would say I was disappointed. "I'm in love with 'pure' flavors, things that are natural and delicious, minimally fussed with, that showcase the …
This Vodka based drink went down smooth...very smooth.
Who do you think you're kidding by serving Tilapia?
However, The Whale delivers much more than the showy atmosphere. We were super excited! Finding a reservation was not difficult, even on a weekend. Perhaps the orecchiette wasn't my taste.
Of the ten dishes we tried, we absolutely loved every one of them.
which was actually really good, but would have been better as a soup as to actually be able to enjoy it.
(HAHAHA) I was pleasantly surprised to see how empty the place was.
It also came with a half slice of brioche that rivaled the delicious slices we got with our chopped liver over at Au Cheval. Had to ask the waiter to pour some of it out. Overall food was quite average.
You also have the option to opt-out of these cookies. We began with the Wisconsin Cheddar Risotto and then had the Rainbow Ribeye Steak and concluded the meal with the banana split and the peanut butter cup with butternut ice cream! We totally understood this, but I really didnt like the way the host communicated this to us. Overall, I loved how they took some basics and upgraded them to another level.
