What follows is a 6-session Bible study on the Book of Nehemiah. THE BOOK OF NEHEMIAH: AN INTRODUCTION The story of Nehemiah is a love story – a story of God’s love for a people with whom he has a special covenant relationship. The Book of Nehemiah Introduction We may read the book of Nehemiah and come away with a general appreciation for a man’s conviction and spiritual energy to get work accomplished and move on to another story. (PDF) The Book of Nehemiah (2018 edition) | Gary Everett, MDiv DMin - Academia.edu The book of Nehemiah offers a three-fold thematic scheme that supports the central claim of the Pentateuch, the claim found in Deuteronomy 6:4 and known to the Jews as “the Shema,” a verse that declares the God of Israel is one, true and living God, In the ancient Hebrew manuscripts the books of Ezra and Nehemiah were written as if they were one; but the title, “The Words of Nehemiah, the son of Hachaliah” (Nehemiah 1:1) clearly indicate the beginning of another book, and justify the separation which was made in the Greek translation at an early period. I want to encourage you to open your Bible, gather with a group of friends, get outside the 4 walls of the congregation, and learn what God desires to teach you. But, be careful. It highlights a pivotal point in salvation history, from which we must look back and then ahead.
