I will definitely try Baskerville! I understand the *dislike* of comic sans, but I don’t understand the hate. The only good thing about Impact is that it became the foundation of the Internet meme, likely as a joke because, as one person said, it has so little impact. Futura is more of a decorative font style, which is not a quality that employers are looking for on your CV.

With 30+ years in design & tech, I can honestly say only a bad carpenter blames their tools. Similarly, if a font has thick letters with soft, rounded corners but that style doesn’t extend to its numbers or punctuation, the font feels inconsistent and even incomplete. All horrid. Some fonts are so overused they’ve become generic. Satisfactory justification requires a lot of fiddling around with hyphens at ends of lines and other fiddling such as adjusting of “kerning” or adding extra words just for the spacing. Futura is a sans-serif font that was designed way back in the 1920s. Other overused, retro fonts you should probably stay away from?

Plain Times (long bundled with the Mac) is a apparently a knock-off of Times New Roman but I prefer it. Just be careful to think about how they will complement each other. I grew up using typewriters and still prefer Courier and other typewriter and monospace fonts. Unsubscribe at any time. It’s the same series of concentric rings, but as it changes sizes, you can see that a moiré effect results from trying to draw these rings out of mere pixels. Giddyup
New Caledonia Clarendon It is possible that Georgia and Times were considered attractive because of their widespread use in both print and on computer screens (Times also serves as the primary default for Microsoft OfficeTM software suites) and, thus, participants were more familiar with this type of font. While bad fonts are universally bad choices, a good font isn’t automatically a good choice for your project.
